Key Feature

Go beyond your limits with your burning ideals. "Fireblood" makes your dreams come true.

Fireblood is a series that thoroughly brings out the individuality of each model by pouring all of Shimano's rod manufacturing technology into it. This time, we went back to the basics and pushed the "idealism" of "catching large fish with any rod size" to the limit, rather than choosing the rod size according to the size of the fish. In addition to the spiral X-core and the newly adopted muscle carbon that greatly improves operability, we reexamined the basic design, feedback from anglers' sensibilities, and recent changes in the field, and pursued the individuality and perfection of each model even at the expense of productivity. While pursuing infinite ideals, we identified and compensated for the disadvantages that arise in the process, and the resulting tone will make you feel excited when you hold it, yet no two models are alike. The new "Fireblood" is sure to be the rod that will help you become the ideal angler you want to be.

Expressing burning passion and flawless rationality. "Fire Red" is brighter than any other red.

The new Fireblood was required to have a design that symbolizes and fuses the design philosophy and the passion of anglers. At the same time, this series also has an aspect as a tournament rod. How can we express the "ultimate presence" that satisfies not only the performance honed to hook and catch fish, and the presence that stands out in the field, but also the joy of owning it? This was the proposition imposed on the new generation Fireblood, and it is also the mission of Fireblood.

Until now, there was no paint that could express this in color, but this impossibility has now been realized with the latest paint and after dozens of trials and errors. From passion to coldness, the vivid colors and then the metallic feel that blends in with the rest of the fish is an original pattern that is only allowed for 24 models, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is an original pattern that is only allowed for 24 models. It will give you an indescribable feeling when other anglers see the curve of the rod in the distance, or when the angler who has caught a fish suddenly drops his gaze to the base of the rod.

Four unique and one-of-a-kind models that allow you to become the person you want to be.

Quarter Master - Master control and take the lead -

In order to maximize the "operability" of the light and easy-to-handle 5.1m length setting, the role of each piece has been more clearly designed. The tip is designed to be sensitive enough to catch even the smallest bites. #2 has a sensitive tip with tension that complements the operability of casting the float and mending the line. #3 and #4 have a flexible and straightforward load transfer, making it easy to grasp the size and position of the fish, and allowing you to take the initiative and fight with an advantage even if the prey is large. Furthermore, since it is possible to "tighten" the rod with a taut base, even though it is equivalent to 1.2, you can reel in the fish more quickly than ever before.

TENTACLE - Sensitive antennae for catching prey -

By evolving into a higher elasticity blank, we have thoroughly pursued sensitivity and operability to actively pursue the performance of "hooking and catching". The rod has a quick recovery force, so it responds instantly to all intended actions, from casting the bait to fighting. The taper has been redesigned to combine a controllable action that accurately reproduces the next action intended by the angler, with the strength to smoothly absorb the power of unexpected large fish. As a result, in addition to the operability of the tip, aggressive hooking, and quick fighting, the line retention of the line is comparable to that of a body.

DIVEMASTER - Delicacy and power for deep water fishing -

The number of fishing fields is increasing, and nowadays, fishing at deep depths is required with light tackles. Higher numbers reduce the accuracy of operating light tackles, and lower numbers cause stumbling during the crucial fight. We pursued a specialized tuning to eliminate this contradiction. In order to achieve the same operability as lower numbers, we thoroughly lightened the blanks. The lightness and response of rod work has improved, making precise operations such as line mending easier. And we pursued the optimal solution for taper and rigidity in order to obtain the power to smoothly lift good-sized fish without letting them run into the "danger zone" even when hooked at deep depths. A rod that eliminates the contradictions in modern float fishing has been born.

HYDROSCOPE - Throw, lure, float -

In recent years, with the severe desertification of the coastline, the behavior of skilled prey is changing to hiding in the offshore tides. We have pursued the performance required to deliver the tackle to the offshore points in such a scene. The tip is taut, allowing for the long-distance casting performance of the weighted float and technical operation such as pulling back the tackle at the right timing to lure it. The belly section to the butt section realizes smooth load transfer to attract heavy fish from the offshore and lift them up. This combines light swinging that eliminates the dullness of conventional body-tuned rods with automatic fighting performance, creating a great advantage for long-range fishing.

Core blanks are a concept that enhances the rod's inherent strength. Muscle carbon takes it to new heights.

There is an important keyword to understand the performance that the new Fireblood has achieved. That is core blanks. This is a concept that aims to bring out 100% of the potential of the essential parts of a fishing rod, with all the parts removed from the fishing rod. To achieve this, three elements in particular are the key: the guides, the blanks themselves, and the joints (the joints of the telescopic rod). In other words, the guides should be light without interfering with the line release, and the tip should be trouble-free and operable, while the blanks should be light and strong, and have a curve like a one-piece rod without joints. Of course, the ideal is only an ideal, but the X-guide, Spiral X-core, and Parabola Tune R were developed to approach that height at close range. Among them, the synergistic effect of Muscle Carbon Spiral X-core was the driving force behind the significant evolution this time. Muscle Carbon is a high-performance material that reduces excess resin by bundling fibers more densely than normal carbon. If this is combined with the Spiral X-core, a manufacturing method that realizes high strength of the blanks, it can be said that a dramatic improvement in performance is inevitable.

Two types of end grips that provide a balance between operability and fighting, and are suited to the specific application.

There are two types of grips used for the Fireblood. The Quartermaster and Tentacle are fighting support grips. The Divemaster and Hydroscope are separate grips. The Quartermaster and Tentacle are designed to be light enough for maneuverability, and are designed for use when fighting with the rod on your elbow, as if it were an extension of your dominant hand. For this reason, the part that corresponds to the end grip is molded as a single piece with a triangular cross section. Stability is increased by increasing the contact area with the elbow (85% increase compared to the round shape). On the other hand, the separate grip used for the Divemaster and Hydroscope is a setting that allows the characteristics of the butt area to be utilized more. The rod's bending easily follows the bottom of the reel seat, and the design is advantageous for various fighting styles, such as storing with the waist or holding with both arms. The end grip is selected after searching for the ideal tone for each item. This is the pursuit of ideals that only FIREBLOOD can achieve.

The Fireblood philosophy is the same as the reel. The unity with BB-X is present in every detail.

The "Fire Red" color, which combines passion and coolness, matches any reel, but its matching with the 2024 limited edition BB-X Technium Fireblood is particularly noteworthy. The red of the reel body's side and lever brake, along with the rod, will more vividly express the angler's thoughts. In addition, the blanking of the hood that secures the reel foot is breathtakingly beautiful, and its texture further strengthens the sense of unity with BB-X, a collection of advanced metal processing technologies.

Impression

Takuya Hirakawa

I've been with the Fireblood Grey for almost 17 years, so each one is filled with memories, including of course some frustrating ones. When I hold it in my hand, it makes me think "Let's go!", and even if I'm frustrated, it makes me think "I can still go!" It's a tool for catching fish, but it's more than that; it's something that warms my heart and strengthens my spirit among the many Shimano series.

The first thing I want you to notice about the new Fireblood Grey is the design that gradually changes from deep black to a strong red, as if it is burning. It also has a gold logo on both sides, which I think will be irresistible for those who like that. And the biggest feature is that each rod has its own individuality. We've increased the overall performance as much as possible and added outstanding individuality to it, so if it matches the angler's personality, I think it will create a synergistic effect. It also uses muscle carbon, the same technology as the Iso Limited, which has the advantage of being lightweight yet high strength, which is what raises the overall performance of the rod.

This time, I thoroughly tested all four items and caught many good sea bream, but the one that surprised me the most was the Dive Master. It's 5.3m long, which is the equivalent of 1.5, but it's so light. It's easy to swing and you can swing it at a high speed when casting the rig. The impact of its lightness was so great that I wondered, "Is it really 1.5?" It's a basic rod that can handle fishing in any situation, but it has the power to float fish from deep depths that it has inherited, and this has been further refined. The most distinctive feature is that it's now easier to swing.

When I travel around the country, there are areas with strong fish that can take my rod or cut my line, but I can't get a hit. So I need a light, thin tackle and fine operation. There are many situations like that. Because they are contradictory, a rod with strong tension will not be compatible with thin tackle and will be less maneuverable. However, if I use a low-numbered rod, I won't be able to beat the fish. The new Dive Master can handle both parts, so it has the power to make the fish bite with a delicate tackle and fight firmly while protecting the tackle. And because it has a separate grip, it is easy to fight with your waist or hold it with both hands. Above all, when the rod bends to its limit, you can fight with the entire rod, including the part behind the reel seat, and it is designed to bring out the power and overall strength that Dive Master has inherited from generation to generation.

Feature

Core Blanks

The Spiral X-Core, Parabola Tune, and X-Guide are combined to improve strength, lightness, and tenacity. This next-generation blank achieves the high level of operability and hooking action required of a fishing rod.

X-Seat (Palm Fit Seat CI4 II)

The shape is designed to fit your palm and prevent slipping. The lightweight, high-strength CI4 material provides excellent grip, operability, and strength. The screw seat is designed specifically for use on the rocks to prevent loosening and rattling. The matte rubber coating provides grip and operability that prevents slipping even with wet hands.

X Guide 3D Titanium Top

Made of strong and lightweight titanium material. The angle of the guide is optimized for a good angle of release. It reduces tangling of the line tip and pursues the ability to follow the bite.

X-Duide: 3D-CI4 (tip section running guides)

The blank is flush with the rod, the angle is designed to allow the line to pass through easily, and the line tangle is reduced. At the same time, the rod is made as light as possible, and the tip is designed to reduce vibration, improving maneuverability.

T-IMSG Guide

Fuji T-IMSG guides are used except in areas where X guides are used.

Fighting Support Grip (Quarter Master, TENTACLE)

A fighting support grip that uses lightweight, high-strength carbon integral molding technology to increase the contact area with the arm and pursue outstanding stability and weight reduction.

Separate grip (DIVEMASTER, HYDROSCOPE)

The separate grip, which has been made lighter and easier to operate, allows the rod to bend all the way to the bottom of the reel seat, and is designed to be advantageous for a variety of fighting styles, such as holding the rod with your hips or holding it with both arms.

Features

Spiral X Core
A next-generation basic structure that has evolved by using high-strength materials. Using Shimano's unique design and manufacturing methods, we thoroughly pursue further increased strength in all directions, including bending, screwing, and crushing. Shimano's original basic structure Spiral X, which enhances rod performance from the core, uses carbon tape made of high-strength resin realized by nanoalloy® technology. We have achieved even higher strength with selected materials. Compared to general structures, it achieves 1.4 times the screw strength and 2.5 times the crushing strength (compared to our company). Furthermore, compared to Spiral X, we achieved a 10% increase in screw strength and a 15% increase in crushing strength (compared to our company).
* Nanoalloy® is a registered trademark of Toray Industries, Ltd.

X Guide
Shimano original guide [X Guide] that brings out the original rod performance.
The X Guide was born from the perspective of a rod manufacturer to fully bring out the potential of blanks. Shimano's original high-performance guide that combines lightness, trouble-free casting, and casting performance at a high level.

X-Seat
We create rods that are just right for the job and bring out their inherent performance.
The basis of rod making is to first focus on the blank and maximize its performance. The grip, which inputs the angler's intentions and senses the fish's response, is an important terminal for this. Shimano pursues the "ease of grip" required in each situation and gives shape to innovative ideas.

Muscle Carbon
Muscle Carbon is a high-performance material that significantly reduces the gaps between the fibers by bundling carbon fibers more densely than regular carbon materials, and reduces the amount of resin used to fill those gaps.

Parabola Tune/Parabola Tune R/Parabola Tune R
In order to achieve a smoother action, the Parabolic Tune has revised the joints of each section, eliminating the difference in rigidity while maintaining strength. It has succeeded in drawing out a smooth action and power comparable to that of a one-piece rod. In addition, there are versions developed specifically for iso rods, the Parabolic Tune R, which optimizes the thickness of the blanks at each joint so that the entire rod bends smoothly, and the Parabolic Tune R , which has revised the taper relationship of not only the joints but also the front and rear sections, allowing for a smoother fulcrum shift for bending.

Taftec ∞ (Infinity)
The newly developed Taftec ∞ achieves three times the winding strength and five times the winding amount of a typical solid (compared to our previous products). It is a high-strength solid tip that surpasses the strong Taftec a.

Ci4
Ci4 is a further evolution of Shimano's proprietary C14 material reinforced with carbon fiber. Its features are that it is lighter and has higher strength than conventional resins.

Barrier Finish
The special coating applied to the blank surface has succeeded in significantly reducing the adhesion of dirt. Even if dirt does get on the rod, it can be easily removed by simply rinsing it with water due to its excellent water-repellent and dirt-resistant properties. This keeps the rod beautiful.

Hyper Non-Contact II
By applying a special convex coating called "dots" to the surface of the blanks, we have succeeded in reducing frictional resistance when the line comes into contact with the rod. This prevents the line from becoming sticky even in adverse conditions such as rain or sea spray.

G Cross Protector
The joint between nodes is the part where the most stress is concentrated during the exchange. The G cross protector greatly reduces the risk of damage and gives the ball opening a fearless look.

Line Up

QUARTER MASTER 1.2-510.

Master control.
The easy-to-handle 5.1m length allows for efficient maneuverability, and each piece has a clearer role. The tip is designed to be sensitive enough to catch even the smallest bites. #2 is a sensitive tip with a stiffness that complements maneuverability when casting the float or mending the line. #3 and #4 are flexible and achieve a straightforward load transfer, making it easier to sense the position and size of the fish during the fight, allowing you to take the initiative in the fight. In addition, the stiff base of the rod allows you to tighten the rod, making it possible to take in even larger prey more quickly than before.

TENTACLE 1.2-530

Acute sense of touch to catch prey.
With thorough sensitivity and operability, we actively pursue "hang and catch" performance, and evolve into a higher elastic blank. The rod is equipped with quick resilience, so the rod reacts instantly to the intended movement until the cast ~ fight of the device. Anglers can accurately predict their next move, achieving controllable tunes. In addition, the taper has been redesigned to smoothly receive the power of an unexpected big game. As a result, Harris's maneuverability, aggressive hooking, and quick fights are combined with Harris's toss-up to keep him in control at all times.

DIVEMASTER 1.5-530

Bring delicacy and power to the deep Dana strategy.
In modern times, the number of fields of thread karashi has increased, and it is necessary to capture deep dana with light gimmicks. At high numbers, the accuracy is poor for light device operations, and at low numbers, it stumbles in the crucial fight. We pursue a tone that specializes in "good type strategy from deep dana" that resolves such contradictions. Thorough reduction of the weight of the blanks was carried out to achieve low-number operability. As a result, the lightness when moving the rod up, down, left and right is improved, and fine line mending is easier. Then, we sought the power to lift the good mold smoothly without running from the deep dana to the danger zone, and pursued the optimal solution of taper and rigidity. One that resolves the contradictions in modern fluke fishing.

HYDROSCOPE 1.6-530

Throwing, luring, floating.
In these days of severe seashore burning, the old prey is lurking in the tide farther offshore. In such a scene, we pursued the elements necessary to deliver a device to an old prey. The tip of the ear is firm, and the long-throw performance of the uki with its own weight, not only does it flow with the tide, but it also supports technical movements such as pulling the device back and inviting it at the right time. From the belly section to the butt, a smooth load transfer is achieved to lift the heavy fish from the sea. As a result, the lightness of the swing that dispels the dullness of the conventional torso rod and the fight performance by automatic load transfer create a great advantage in the "long-throw strategy".
